Health Guarantee & Buyer Agreement
This agreement must be signed and returned by the buyer prior to the release of any puppy.
Health Guarantee
Ohio Companion Puppies LLC certifies, to the best of our knowledge, that each puppy is in good health at the time of sale. All puppies will be examined by a licensed veterinarian prior to leaving our care. A signed health record from the veterinarian, including current vaccinations and deworming treatments, will be provided at the time of pickup or delivery.
To maintain this health guarantee, the buyer must have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian withinfive (5) days of receiving the puppy. This initial health check is the responsibility and financial obligation of the buyer. If the examining veterinary finds the puppy to have a serious health condition, the buyer is required to notify Ohio Companion Puppies within 24 hrs or the diagnosis and provide written documentation by the license veterinarian.
We offer a one-year health guarantee from the date of sale against serious congenital health conditions that would significantly impact the quality of life or lead to early death. This guarantee applies only to conditions confirmed by a licensed veterinarian and determined to be congenital or genetic in nature.
o Size, weight, structure, or coat quality, temperament or personality traits
o Injury, neglect, environmental changes or parasites contracted after leaving our care
o Behavioral issues, injuries, or property damage caused by the puppy
While we provide a strong training foundation, it is the buyer’s responsibility to continue the dog’s training and development.
Sales Policy
All sales are final.
No exchanges or refunds will be issued once the puppy has left our premises however, Ohio Companion Puppies may accept return of a puppy in accordance with the Return/Rehoming Policy outline in this agreement.
Ohio Companion Puppies LLC is not responsible for any illness, injury, or loss of the puppy after it has been transferred to the buyer.
Shipping
Shipping arrangements are the sole responsibility of the breeder. A non-refundable deposit is required to hold the puppy until shipping is confirmed. This deposit will be applied toward the final purchase price.
Pick-Up
Buyers must place a non-refundable deposit of $200 or $500 (amount specified by seller) to reserve a puppy for pickup. The puppy must be picked up within 10 days of the agreed pick-up date unless other arrangements are made in writing.
If the buyer fails to pick up the puppy within this timeframe, the puppy will be made available to other buyers, and the deposit will be forfeited.
The deposit will be applied toward the final purchase price at the time of pickup.
Ongoing Care and Purpose
The buyer agrees to:
Maintain the puppy’s health with regular veterinary care and vaccinations as advised by their licensed veterinarian.
Provide a safe, loving home and ensure the dog is not used for purposes outside of its natural temperament and breed suitability.
This puppy is sold as a family companion and/or for appropriate tasks such as therapy, herding, AKC conformation, or performance events. It is not to be used for breeding, stud use, resale, illegal activities, or purposes such as guarding, fighting, or hunting other animals.
Companion Animal Agreement & Spay/Neuter Requirement
The Buyer agrees that the Puppy is being purchased as a companion animal only and shall not be used for breeding or stud purposes under any circumstances. The Puppy is not to be bred, either intentionally or accidentally, and shall not produce or sire a litter at any time.
The Buyer further agrees to have the Puppy spayed or neutered at an age-appropriate time as determined by a licensed veterinarian.
By signing this contract, the Buyer acknowledges and agrees to these terms and understands that any violation will be considered a breach of contract, which may result in legal or financial consequences.
Return / Rehoming Policy
If at any time the Buyer is unable or unwilling to keep the Puppy, the Buyer agrees to notify Ohio Companion Puppies LLC first before surrendering, rehoming, reselling, or transferring ownership of the Puppy to any other individual, shelter, rescue, breeder, or organization. Ohio Companion Puppies LLC may, at its sole discretion, accept return of the Puppy.
To be eligible for a return the Buyer must provide: A current veterinary health certificate dated within seven (7) days prior to return confirming the Puppy/Dog is in good general health, free of contagious illness, and safe to re-enter our program or home environment. Complete veterinary records, including vaccination history and any treatments received while in the Buyer’s care.
The Buyer is solely responsible for all costs associated with returning the Puppy, including but not limited to:
• Veterinary examination and health certificate fees
• Transportation, shipping, or delivery costs
• Any additional expenses incurred to safely return the Puppy to Ohio Companion Puppies LLC
No refunds, reimbursements, credits, or exchanges will be issued for returned puppies or dogs. All monies paid, including deposits, purchase price, shipping fees, and related expenses, are non-refundable and forfeited upon return.
Ohio Companion Puppies LLC reserves the right to refuse return of any Puppy/Dog that is ill, injured, neglected, or determined to be unsafe or unsuitable for re-entry without prior written agreement.
